The Shotgun - 5 Coin Slot Strategy

The strategy we'll go over now is called "the shotgun." That's because you're gonna take a shot at a row of machines or your favourite online slot games where you won't do much damage to your bankroll, but you may hit on a number of small machines, maybe six, where you'll put your plan into play.

Actually, you're taking a shot at all six machines, not just one, hoping at least one of them is ripe for a nice payout. You set up your pattern of play, but this strategy is not aimed at just one machine, rather, it's aimed at how much you'll put into each of the machines. We'll start with the first machine where you deposit 1 coin and pull. Then deposit 2 coins and pull. Then deposit 3 coins and pull, then 4 coins, and last 5 coins. Then you move on to the next machine, except if one of the plays gives a payout. In that case, you have to repeat the amount of coins you played, because you never leave a machine where your last play was a winning one.

Each machine of the six that you picked out gets the same level of play. All the machines must be the same, i.e., 5 coin machines (you can also play this at the 3-coin slots).

  1. Pick six slots.
  2. Set aside 15 coins for each.
  3. Set naked pulls and loss limits.
  4. Deposit coins in the pattern of 1-2-3-4-5.
  5. When the six machines have been played, the series is finished.

Go back and start over.

The strategy of the shotgun is that one, two, or even three of those machines will give a payout. The most you are investing in a machine is the total of the series 1-2-3-4-5, which equals 15 coins or $3.75 at the quarter slots. Of course, if you want to play at a higher stakes machine, you can, providing that your bankroll allows it.

If you have a small stake, simply cut down your series to 1-2-3. That means that at the quarter slots you're risking $1.50 per machine and $9 for the whole group of six machines. You can vary the number of coins you put in, as well as varying the number of machines you play. Again, your bankroll will determine how many machines and how many coins you can play.

The shotgun gives you a couple of shots at several machines. You won't win a lot of money at one machine, but you won't do much damage to your bankroll either.
