The "three star strategy" is geared to 3-coin machines
and uses a bunch of long series to play a session. The
three-star strategy incorporates a variation on the strategy
of naked
pulls called naked numbers. While naked pulls limits
your losses and signifies the end to a session at a machine,
naked numbers limits your losses by signifying
the end to a level of a series. For instance, you are
playing a series that reads: 3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1.
That's ten pulls per coin level. You set a naked number
of four, which means if you are playing 3 coins and you
get four empty pulls, you drop down to the next lowest
amount and play 2 coins for ten straight pulls. So if
you have four empty pulls, you don't end the session but
you do drop one betting level and continue the series
at that level. Let's give that a quick review:
- Naked Pulls: When you start a session, this is the
number you set to end the session and leave that machine.
It should be between seven and fourteen empty pulls.
Whatever number you feel most comfortable with.
- Naked Number: When you play a series that calls for
a long amount of pulls at a certain level, the idea
is to reduce the number of pulls at that amount so as
not to get hurt. You choose the number depending on
the length of the series, but it should be between 30
percent and 50 percent of the length of the series.
The naked number strategy is an excellent strategy that
allows you to stay at a certain machine, but gives you
a chance to drop to a lower bet. Just be sure to keep
an eye on your loss
limits and naked pulls that signal the end of that
session. You don't want to set your naked pulls at eight
and then exceed that limit just because you are dropping
to a lower level and you never exceed your loss limit.
If you set a loss limit at 50 percent don't keep playing
just because the series isn't yet over. A loss limit is
just that, a limit.
With the three star method you use ten bets per level.
You need to have a $20 session amount for quarter slot
machines and a $30 session amount for half-dollar machines.
Remember you have to break up your bankroll into realistic
sessions and set loss limits. Here are some examples of

Just to go over this 3 star slots strategy. You should
like the fact that there are ten pulls at each level with
protection coming from the addition of naked numbers.
Let's say nine was the naked pulls you set and the naked
number was four.
- If you have nine naked pulls the session is over,
so you're protected against a disaster.
- If you have four empty pulls in a row, you've reached
your naked number and drop to the next lowest level.
This cuts down a heavy insertion of coins at a high
level on a cold machine.
You can add optional moves to the three star strategy.
You could jump the bet to a higher level when a win occurs.
This is a move which should be incorporated into most
methods because of the logical strategy that you want
to take advantage of streaks or trends.
With the three-star strategy you have another option
move when you jump to a higher level:
- You can stay at the level you jumped to and complete
that line.
- You can slide back to the level you jumped from when
a loss occurs.
We prefer number 1 as that keeps you at a higher level
of play and ensures a nice return if the slot machine
stays hot. You then can pick up the series you predetermined.
