This is a conservative strategy. When playing a 3 coin
slot machine you should generally BET MAX coins all the
time as you are getting best value for the Jackpot prize.
A jackpot is rarely won, but when most players do win
the jackpot they like to win it at the max and would regret
not putting in that extra coin and getting max value from
the machine.
Also, on most slot machines theres little point in betting
2 coins because theres no extra value in winning a 2 coin
jackpot, whereas a 3 coin jackpot pays out more than 3
times a 1 coin jackpot.
For example:
1 coin jackpot 2500
2 coin jackpot 5000
3 coin jackpot 10, 000 (you get an extra 2500, which would
be $2500 if betting a $1 coin bet.
However, the Up the Steps strategy is more for
the pessimistic players who think they won't win
the jackpot, or if they have a limited bankroll
and want to use it to get maximum playing time
so therefore are happy to bet only 1 or 2 coins at a time.
What you do is start at the minimum betting level and
bet 1 or 2 coins at a time. If the machine pays out you
can climb the betting steps. If the slot game is running
cold then you simply stay at that betting level.
Heres how it works, lets say you take $20 to a 3 coin
slot machine and pay for your first spin with 1 coin.
If you lose, bet again 1 coin, lose, bet again 1 coin,
lose again, bet 1 coin again and so on. You keep betting
the minimum while you are losing.
Finally on the 5 th spin you get a win. Now the next
bet you make is 2 coins. If you win the next bet with
2 coins, the following bet will be 3 coins. If however
you lose the first 2 coin bet, your following bet will
be back down to 1 coin.
This is the basics of "Up The Steps". You stay at the
minimum staking level until you get a return. If you win
at step one then move up to step two. If you lose at step
2 you go go down to step 1. If you move up to a 3 coin
bet you will stay there until you lose and then move down
to step 2, and so on, up and down the steps.
The result of this method is that you are betting
the minimum while you are losing and betting more
on your winning streaks.
