The slot game has a kind of a loyalty
feature in that once the player has accumulated 99 diamonds
they get into the bonus game. If say you get to 45 diamonds and
stop playing for the day, when you next return to play you will
continue the diamond count from 45.
Although note you have to be playing on the same
coin denomination machine, so if you build up 24 diamonds on the
35 cent slot game and then later go to the 1 cent slot version
the diamond count will be zero.

Bonus Symbol:
In this game the diamonds are a type of bonus symbol. You need
to accumulate 99 diamonds to gain access to the bonus game, and
this is made easier because of a feature called Cascading
Diamonds. Each diamond that appears will move in the
direction the Diamond is facing and drop into the symbol below
and increase the number of diamonds for payouts.
The diamonds only move in the direction they
are pointing so sometimes they do not expand as they are pointing
off screen whilst other times they will fill all 3 positions on
a reel. This means you collect more diamonds more quickly.
Bonus Game:
The Diamond Mine bonus game gives you the chance to win upto 4950
credits, although you must be betting max coins on max paylines
to have a chance of winning that amount.
As explained above you simply need to collect
99 diamonds to activate the game you can see how many diamonds
you have collected at any time by looking at the diamond counter
which is located to the top right of the reels.
Once the counter reaches 99
the miner lights the fuse and the fuse wire burns its way along
towards the diamond counter which then explodes taking you into

some mines will collapse and this will kill your Gnome and end
