Slots Type: 3 Reel, 1 Payline Fruit Machine.

Software: Microgaming

Description: This game was the first attempt from Microgaming at making a fruit machine. To be fair to Microgaming they did not actually make the game, they let a company in London make it. So you would expect it to be a pretty authentic fruit machine style game. The game does indeed have a number of typically British features, the name for example is 'Pub Fruity'. It is true that pretty much every pub in the UK has a Fruit Machine. Then there is the Held feature which has been made to look like a packet of Walkers Salt and Vinegar Crisps and the use of darts (another very common pass time in a British Pub).

The sound effects are spot on and really make you feel like you are in a typical busy British Pub and all the flashing on the bonus ladder certainly added to the realistic feel of the game.

With all of that said I personally expected the game to be better, it is (in my opinion) low on features and lacks many of the things a real British fruit machine would have. For example there is no gamble feature (I don’t think I have ever played a fruit machine that does not have a hi/lo gamble or a gamble feature of some type). You have no control at all over which symbols to hold, in fact the crisp packet 'held feature' lights up and makes a noise from time to time but I can not see anything actually being held so I don’t know why they went through all the effort of creating that packet.

Cash Ladder: The Cash Ladder in this game is referred to as the Drinks Trail, a nice touch. It is full of features and it is one of the stops on the drinks trail that allows you the chance to hold a symbol (which does not seem to come up very often much to my disappointment).

There are also a number of multiplier bonuses on the drinks trail ranging from 2 times your bet up to 500 times your bet. I really like the Stoppa Win spot which starts all the different multiplier spots flashing one after the other and you have to click to stop it, and obviously you are aiming to stop it on the highest paying multiplier. I found this feature to be just like the fruit machine in my local pub.

The Cocktail Shaker is also a pretty authentic spot. When you land on the Cocktail Shaker the cash ladder lights up and down and stops on a random spot (sometimes you win and sometimes you don’t).

Bonus Darts Game: I really liked the idea of this but after playing this game for an hour I had never once saved up enough darts to play the game. As there is no expert mode on this game I could not simply turn the auto spin on and wait for it to come up so I am giving up for now.
