|
|
Ive added Merlin the wizard to our sites main page, he will automatically give you a guided tour of the main page of our site pointing out a number of the key sections.
If you want him to stop you simply right click on him and click hide and he will go away.
On our main page he does just do a standard preset tour (which I will change from time to time) but he can be made to be more interactive, I have created a more interactive version at http://www.slotsjam.com/wizard.html.
If you visit that page you will see that he will give you information if you put your mouse over almost any image on the page. He will even offer to tell you a joke if you put your mouse over the slotsjam logo at the top of the page and if you click on the logo he will tell you one of a number of jokes he knows.
On that page he also responds to being moved and also being clicked on.
Please let me know if these are things you would like me to incorporate into him on the sites main page. Or would you maybe like to see him on other pages? Would you find it helpfull if he guided you through the different parts of a multi line slot for example?
Or maybe you think hes annoying and would rather I got rid of him.
Either way please let me know your thoughts on Merlin my little Wizard friend so I can continue to make this site an even better place to hang out.
Thanks
Andy |

Thanks for the feeddback mongoose.
I will look into how to do that and will try to make the wizard interactive so that he no longer bothers you but so that you can bring him back if you want him too.
I will post again when Ive made some progress. |

Ok I've just gone live with the new slots wizard on the front page. He is now much more interactive (if you click on him or move him he will say any number of quirky comments).
You can now be cookied too so that the wizard will not pop up every time you visit. The cookie is very safe and does not pass any of your personal information.
Here is how it works.
On your first visit to our site our slots wizard will ask you to put your name into a box and click submit. If you do not do that he will ask you again next time you visit our site.
However if you tell him your name he will greet you (by name) and will proceed to give you a guided tour of the page.
If you do not want a guided tour you can stop him at any time by simply clicking on him or moving him and he will rest. Note you can make him hide by right clicking on him and clicking hide.
Then on your second visit, the slots wizard will welcome you back by name and tell you what to do if you want him (click on his image) he will then disappear.
On your third visit and every visit after that the slots wizard will not appear at all unless you put your mouse over his image or click on his image. The only time he will appear after that is if I give him a special message for you and he will then only tell you your special message once.
I hope you are all happy with this solution it means those that dont want to be bothered by the wizard dont have to be and those who like the wizard (like I do) can go and play with him on his own super interactive page.
So let me know if you have any other suggestions |
