Hi All
Intertops Casino an old an respected Microgaming powered online casino was recommended to me by a good friend and fellow gambling related site owner as being a great casino for all US Players. So I checked it out and it did indeed apear to be a great casino (as most Microgaming powered casinos are).
As I am in the UK I could not personally verify if it did accept all US Players but by looking at a few other gambling forums Im a member of (which are run by US based webmasters) I could see they were indeed being promoted as accepted US Players from all states.
Still wanting to be extra sure I emailed Intertops with the very specific question 'Are you really accepting US Players from all states?'. The answer that came back was as follows:
| Quote: | Thank you for your e-mail.
Please note that Intertops.com is licensed and regulated by the Government of Antigua and Barbuda to accept customer from the USA. However, we do advised our customer's to check with their local council offer to ensure that it is legal for them to gamble in their area.
Should you require further assistance, please do not hesitate to let us know, we will be more than happy to help.

So far so good.
So I met up with an Intertops representative in Amsterdam at the CAC and asked the same question again and this time I also asked how they could accept US Players from all states whilst other Microgaming casinos could not. The answer was quite enlightening. Basically as Intertops runs a sportsbook and takes care of the Transactions themselves (unlike other Microgaming powered casinos which have Microgaming deal with all the transactions) Microgaming was not aware of where their players came from. He did say that although they can and do accept players from all US states, they do not want that to be publicly promoted and would rather they are just promoted as 'Accepts US Players' and not promoted as 'Accepts US Players from all states'.
So added Intertops to Slots Jam and took it from there.
Recently I received an email from a Slots Jam visitor who was having trouble with Intertops. I have posted part of her email to me below
| Quote: | The problem is we are still being locked out, the download was a long, long process, signing in was almost impossible because control of the mouse no longer belonged to me. I restarted my computer 3 times, I spent over 1 1/2 hours trying to get into the casino only to get the famous message that my account has been locked. I
have been locked out previously from other casinos because I was identified as a NJ resident by my IP address and I am guessing this still applies. |
This lady was also kind enough to forward me a copy of the response she got from Intertops when she emailed them about the problems she was having. Below I have posted a couple of snippets from Intertops reply.
| Quote: | | Kindly note that we do accept US customers, however there are a few states listed as restricted states. Unfortunately, you happen to reside at one of these states and therefore would not be able to access the casino or our poker room. You can however play within our sportsbook, where all sports events are listed. |
Later in that email they go on to list the states
| Quote: | Moreover, no account applications or wagering activity will be accepted from residents of THE NETHERLANDS. No bets will be accepted in the Casino or the Poker room if placed from: Michigan, Illinois, Louisiana, Oregon, Wisconsin, Washington, Indiana, Nevada, South Dakota, New Jersey and New York.

No surprise to see that the 'restricted states' are the exact same states that other Microgaming Powered casinos cannot accept either.
I would be very interested to know if any other residents of these Restrictive states have had the same or similar problems and also if any have managed to sign up and play at Intertops? Please post in this thread about your experiences. |
