After trying several times to use Neteller tonight, I went to the live chat help toolbar at Neteller and saw a message that Neteller has been "reevaluating" their business model and as of now will no longer allow US residents to use their service. The language left it open ended as if they might reinstate it later on, but I have my doubts.
What a shame. Neteller is one of the few reliable ways US residents have been able to play at online casinos without having to pay extra fees. I only signed up for Neteller a few weeks ago and there was no warning or notice about this happening at all. This stinks. We can't use credit cards either. |

Thanks for posting. No this doesn't seem good news.
I also found some more info on it:
NeTeller Arrests
I'm not one to speculate to much on the if's, but's maybes, what ifs.
I'm just hoping they find a way to carry on. We'll have to look into what options are available to U.S players if they do see this route to playing closed. |

To best protect the interests of NETELLER members, employees, shareholders and business partners, NETELLER will no longer provide service to US members to transfer funds to and from online gambling merchants. Read the press release.
How do I know if I am a US member?
If your registered address with NETELLER is a US address, you are considered a US member and all of the changes indicated here and in your notification email apply to you.
Why can’t I access my instaCASH funds in my NETELLER account?
NETELLER has made a policy and technical change that has disabled instaCASH for US members.
Will I be able to use instaCASH again?
No decisions have been made regarding the future availability of this product.
Can I still use my NETELLER account?
Yes. All US members and non-US members will continue to be able to use their NETELLER e-wallet account for safe online transfers to and from non-gambling merchants, secure peer-to-peer transfers and NETELLER Card withdrawals at ATMs around the world.
Does this change affect withdrawals with NETELLER?
US members who currently have funds in their e-wallet account may keep their funds safe in their account or are free to make withdrawals at any time they choose with a NETELLER Card. US members are not required to withdraw their funds from their NETELLER account.
What’s the quickest and most convenient way to withdraw funds from my NETELLER account?
The NETELLER Card is the quickest and most convenient withdrawal option. When you transfer funds from your NETELLER e-wallet account to your NETELLER Card, you can withdraw those funds from any ATM cash machine on the Cirrus/Maestro network and Pulse Star network, depending on your country of residence. You will have to pay a nominal fee for NETELLER Card withdrawals, but your funds will be available from 15 minutes to an hour after they are transferred to your card. Learn more.
Is my money safe in my NETELLER account?
Yes, your money is safe with NETELLER. All members can hold their funds safely in their NETELLER accounts until such time as they decide to move the funds. The changes in gambling merchant transfers do not affect the ability of US member to maintain funds in their NETELER e-wallet accounts.
NETELLER protects all members’ funds (all deposited, in-transit and un-cleared funds) by holding the value in independent trust accounts. As the largest independent online money transfer business in the world, we maintain our head office in Europe and are a publicly quoted company on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange. NETELLER UK Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.
Am I required to withdraw my money from NETELLER?
No, there is no requirement for US members to withdraw their funds from their e-wallet accounts. US members will still be able to use their NETELLER e-wallet accounts for safe online transactions to non-gambling merchants, secure pee r-to-peer transfers and instant payouts with the NETELLER Card.
Does this change affect non-US members?
No, NETELLER customers with registered addresses outside of the US will not be affected by these changes. The company will continue to operate its non-US business as normal, maintaining all existing products, services, customer and merchant support across all the other countries it currently serves.
How can US members find out about changes to their NETELLER services?
NETELLER will continue to notify you of any pertinent changes to your service. All members will continue to have access to this FAQ site for answers to the most commonly asked questions, but members can also register to receive all NETELLER press releases, by signing up for our e-news alert service.
I am a US resident. Can I still become a NETELLER member?
No. We have temporarily suspended the ability for US residents to create a NETELLER e-wallet account.
Why were the founders of your company arrested?
Although we can confirm that Steve Lawrence and John Lefebvre were detained separately while in the United States, we do not know the details surrounding the detention and cannot provide more clarification. We can confirm that both individuals are no longer employees or board members of NETELLER and have not been involved in the day-to-day running of the company for a number of years.
Why was NETELLER stock suspended from trading?
As a precautionary measure, we asked the London AIM Stock Market to temporarily suspend trading in our shares, effective January 16, 2007. We requested this action to help protect all shareholders from any negative impact the recent detentions might have until more facts are known. Once we understand the situation in greater detail, we will ask the AIM to allow our shares to trade again.
Who can I contact for assistance?
If your question has not bee n answered by this FAQ, or if you require further assistance, please contact NETELLER Customer Service at support@neteller.com or by calling 1-888-258-5859, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please note that at we are experiencing higher than normal support volumes.

|
|
Ok I have had a look around and here is a brief run down of payments options US residents can still use to deposit and withdraw funds from an online casino.
Of these Click2Pay and Payspark are probably the best known amongst players, but I am personally tipping Eco Card as being the one that may prove to be most popular with US players (and casinos accepting US players alike) in the future, Im sure my reasoning will become clear when you read my mini overviews of each.
CLICK2PAY Not Recommended (is not accepting NEW U.S. accounts, but previously existing accounts can still be used for gambling-related transactions.)
Click2Pay allows you to deposit, withdraw and transfer fund on the internet quickly and easily. Click2Pay is a safe and secure payment method and is trusted worldwide and offers support in over 5 languages. You can use Click2Pay to credit your casino account with US Dollars, Euros or UK Pounds. You can deposit funds into your Click2Pay web wallet via a number of methods including Visa, Mastercard or Direct Debit / Bank Transfer. There is a 3% charge if you use your credit card to deposit funds into your web wallet so we suggest in the interest of conserving your funds you use one of the other methods. Click2Pay can be used to both deposit and withdraw from a wide range of online casinos and the transactions you between your Click2Pay account and online casino account should happen instantly making Click2Pay one of the fast methods of payment and withdrawl.

PaySpark
PaySpark is available by invitation only, offers an Internet Account for online deposits, as well as an ATM Account - designed to facilitate the payment of funds to Players. The PaySpark Internet Account is a real bank account, held at a real bank, rather than an electronic wallet, as are many of the alternatives PaySpark is only available in US dollars $$$ or UK Pounds £££ and can be used to either deposit or withdraw money from online casinos.
As you would expect from an Online Bank account PaySparks system is ultra secure and you are 100% assured that your money is safe as they have several different levels of security for you and your money. This includes encryption that encodes information so that is can't be read without decoding, Secure Sockets Layer ("SSL") version 3.0 protocol, which ensures that unauthorized users cannot interrupt or intercept any communications. And no financial data will be transmitted over non-SSL connections.

EcoCard << I have been told by my contacts at The Fortune Lounge Group of Casinos that this is the best payment option for US Players at the moment and they are finding it easy to accept payments from US players using this method.
The EcoCard is ideal if you want to beable to deposit and withdraw funds from online casinos whilst staying as annonymos as possible. EcoCard do not ask for your credit card number or mailing address nor do they ask any spare questions as they put it, so everything is purely on a need to know basis. All the informatio they seem to need is your email address and a password and amazingly EcoCard allows you to keep funds in an amazing number of different currency's including:-
1. US Dollars
2. GBP (UK Pounds)
3. AUD (Austrailian Dollars)
4. CAD (Canadian Dollars)
5. Euros
6. CHF (Switzerland Francs)
7. DKK (Denmark Kroner)
8. ILS (Isreal New Shekels)
9. LVL (Latvia Lati)
10. SEK (Sweden Kronor)
The EcoCard is based in Luxembourg and it has cleared hundreds of thousands of transactions since 1998.

I had personally never heard of the following 2 payment types until I looked in to a solution for this little problem so I have not added any real info about them (all the payment types above I have been aware of for years and have reviewed on other gaming portals I have run so I know all the ones above are up to scratch so to speak). But for completness I thought it only right that I also add the two options which are new to me

I hope you all find that helpful

I also have know players to have there winnings paid to there wired plastic card. the fees are really low its only $3.95 flat fee if you use western uinon and costs 45 cents each time you deposit at a casino. hopefully they wont go out anytime soon but you never know. I have heard that Netspend will soon be denying gambling transactions. |

I'll have to check out WiredPlastic. I have been using Click2Pay but a lot of people think they're next to disallow US players.
Does anyone know if Wired Plastic or Netcash is better than the other? They seem to do the same thing. |

Ive just had a look around and it appears most online casinos are recommending Visa or Master Card in the form of credit or debit card payment, as far as I can tell most online casinos seem to be able to accept these even from US Players at the moment.
There is also a new payment system coming out in March that is based in the UK and that claims that is will be accepting US Players it is called You Teller.
Personally I think if you can pay using credit or debit card at any given casino that is probably the best option for US players right now as signing up for new web wallets often requires jumping through some hoops and takes time.
Also any of you US players reading this should also really be watching perspectives weekly hosted by my friend J Todd of APCW and as he puts it join the fight |

Existing Click2Pay users from USA can still have money taken OUT of thier checking accounts and used to pay for gambling, but you can only get money from Click2Pay to your checking account if you are getting more than $1,500.00. Anything less and you can either wait and see if they will reinstate the withdraw feature (which they have no date for) or spend it somewhere that takes Click2Pay. I found this out when I had about a $20 Available Balance but couldn't find a withdraw option anymore. No response to support email after a week so I called and found this out.
I was going to use the $20 to buy a DVD from Amazon, but they don't take Click2Pay. I asked if since they weren't going to let me have my money, if they'd send me a list of merchants that take them. They said no, but most of the merchants are gambling sites. |

Hey Chuck
Thanks for the info and welcome to Slots Jam.
I think this is pretty poor show.

I can not think of a single good reason why they would not send you a list of merchants that accept Click2Pay, surely it is in their own best interest to help the very merchants that pay them to make money. |
