Vote Now or the Hamster Gets It
If you have been following this blog and have read the Newsletter like good boys and girls, you will be fully aware of the Slots Jam 2008 Awards which will soon be upon us. To give you a little gentle encouragement I have posted a picture of a fluffy, loveable hamster to brighten up your day - cute isn't he?
His name is Oscar, he has a wife, 45 children, 257 grand children, so many great grand children that I have lost count and another litter of his own on the way. Now, it's not like me to resort to bribery, but your votes are extremely important to us and what I am basically trying to say is if you don't vote the hamster gets it, and you wouldn't want that on your conscience now would you?
With new releases such as Pay Dirt! the fabulous new slot from Real Time Gaming that has 3 bonus features and a random progressive jackpot....
and Coyote Cash, another fantastic online slot from RTG which also has a progressive jackpot you will probably be spoiled for choice.
Now, I know that both of these were released in 2009, but I just wanted to point out that there is a huge number of slots games that you could be voting for and once your votes are in, and they have been counted, Oscar will be returned to his family to continue his gruelling regime of eating, sleeping and breeding and I will even get him a new hamster wheel! So really there is really no excuse for not participating in this prestigious event, vote now to have your say.

Over 500 Slots Reviews & 4000 readers!
Whilst creating my latest slots newsletter I thought as I knew we have added almost 100 more slots reviews since the start of the year that I would count how many we had done in total. My finding was that we have reviewed over 500 different slots games (526 to be exact), a very impressive figure when you consider that our slots reviews are the most comprehensive on the net with moving screen shots for the bonus features and expandable reel screen shots plus detailed descriptions of the games along with an over view and full explanation of each of the features. Our hope is that by reading one of our slots review pages you can get a really good idea of what that game is like so you can decide if you are interested in playing the game without ever having to waste your time downloading the software.
Upon sending the slots newsletter today I discovered that we now have over 4000 readers (4045 to be exact) so thank you to everyone who has joined out slots forum and opted in to receive our newsletter I hope you find them an interesting and informative read.

January Newsletter should now be in your inbox
Ok so it was a little late and not on a Friday like normal but come on guys, I still have not missed a month yet. The January 2008 Slots Jam Newsletter should be in your mail box now. My 19th Slots Newsletter and one of my shorter ones at that, this month I missed two regular features, the New Online Slots section and the Slots Tournaments Section.
But if you read it or if you have been following my blog I think you will probably forgive me. After all the first month of the year has not yet passed and already we have 53 more slots reviews completing reviews on every Vegas Technology and Rival slots game, 4 new slots articles plus a funky new year theme.
Which reminded me I had better take down the Happy New Year logo soon, I will have to think of the next theme for the site, I guess Chinese New Year is pretty soon and then there is always valentines day so I had better give the Valentines slots page some TLC.
Plus voting is now open for our 2007 Slots Jam Slots Awards, so I am looking over peoples opinions and trying to be as fair a judge as possible to decide the winners, please keep your opinions coming into me.
Wow what a start to the year, I wonder what next month will bring, watch this space and thank you for reading.

islots, Payment methods and a Newsletter
Wow what a busy day, first I finished off our review of As the Reels Turn which is the first islot I have reviewed. I must say I loved the concept so much infact that I went the extra mile and made a couple of little movie clips showing the intro and first scene from the game. If you dont know what an islot is then read my review of this game to find out. I also got a really cool islots logo sent to me which you can view below just above the moving screen shot I made of the bonus game 'Counterfeit Chips' in the As the Reels Turn slots game.

Next I did a quick deal with my friends a Slotocash casino to secure a $5 Free no deposit required bonus for my Slots Jammers.
Then I went on to update the Slots Tournaments section in our forum and the Slots Tournaments at a Glance table on the sites main page, have you seen how many slots tournaments there are this weekend???? Its crazy!
After that I wrote and sent out this months Slots Jam Newsletter and I am pleased to say I have already had one reply thanking me for an interesting read (it is nice to be appreciated so Thanks).
Then I got right onto updating out Payment Methods thread, so our US visitors can learn about the phasing out of EcoCard (only relevant to US visitors). Plus I added information about 3 other payment methods QuickTender, WWWcard and Netspend all of which are available to US players to use at online casinos that accept them.

We have a winner!
I was very pleased that such a nice person won, finding out they had won Slotty's response was, 'well thanks much I appreciate it, as I appreciate this site. It's a keeper! ' Which I personally found very flattering and I hope many other people agree.
Although the number of members of our still pretty new online slots forum grew very quickly in January, we did not have as many new posters as I would have hoped for. This leads me to think there was some kind of flaw in our promotion, there was a discussion in the forum at the half way point of our competition and I would love some more opinions and ideas of how I could entice more slots players to post.
Before we started the Slots Jam website, we did a lot of research and could not find one single forum community that was dedicated to slots games. Sure I could find 'online slots sites' that had forums, but they did not simply stick to slots, their forum threads seemed to be full of poker and blackjack players. In one forum I saw a newcomer ask a fairly straight forward question about slots strategy only to get flamed, by blackjack players. I am pleased to say the webmaster of that forum did intervene, but from what I could see the damage was done. It was at that point that it became very clear in my head that the forum on the new site we were working on (which at that time had not even been named) , would not have any sections for other casino games, and would be a safe haven for slots players and that must include new comers. I wanted (and still want) everyone to feel free to ask any questions they may have.
I also wanted to ensure the forum was a flame free forum and for that reason made the very first rule of the forum to Be Nice - If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all.
I also wanted to ensure the forum was spam free and as well as actively moderating the forum we have also installed a number of anti spam mods.
On the two forum points above I personally feel at the moment both of those aims are being achieved. Where I feel we are underperforming is our lack of activity. Although we currently have 401 active users (and growing fast) we currently only have 31 members who have made a post, and two of these members are us (that’s me Andy, and the forum moderator SlotsVIP who also posts in this blog).
I do hope I haven’t bored you all with today’s post, Well done to Slotty and everyone please do post any suggestions you have for how I could make our slots forum more tempting for you to post in.
